Witholding a weeks pay after being employed for months Started by need_help_fl , Aug 15 2013 06:18 PM Please log in to reply 2 replies to this topic 1 posts Posted 15 August 2013 - 06:18 PM My husband came home today with letter from his employer stating that due to new pay regulations, they are required to withhold 1 weeks pay from all employees.
For all new employees, this will occur on their first pay-cycle. For existing employees, they will work for 3 weeks and receive a 2 week pay check, after 3 weeks. (They are on bi-weekly payroll.) The employer is going to hold the week's pay until termination.
We live in Florida. He has worked at the company for 5 months. Is this really a new requirement, and is this legal?
